Acting with heart
Storytelling with purpose
Joseph Rendon has been acting and creating stories for over two decades—starting with school plays, then earning a degree in Film and TV Production from Full Sail University, followed by formal training in Meisner, Stanislavsky, and Uta Hagen techniques.
After working as an independent filmmaker and actor in Los Angeles for six years, he began writing Cliff Walk, a feature-length screenplay inspired by true events. To complete the script, he undertook advanced screenwriting studies at UCLA. Now in preproduction and fundraising stages, Joseph aims to bring Cliff Walk to theaters around the world.
Never one to step away from the craft, Joseph recently completed an improv program at KD Conservatory in Dallas and is currently enrolled in their Advanced Scene Study class. He brings life experience, discipline, and a grounded, emotionally honest approach to every project he touches.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do, and why, and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
As a kid acting was my favorite game to play, my addiction, a scape from reality, a necessary tool to be happy, I was always very curious about people, I was always looking deeply at the differences among them, everywhere I went, the store, the school, the park, etc. I remember playing with my friends at school, creating stories based on people I found interesting in real life. But, my first act on stage wasn’t as pleasant because I remember as I was forced to wear what I thought was a dress at to impersonate Joseph, I was furious and felt ridiculous at first until I arrived at school and saw all of my friends wearing the same gowns to play this act with me I immediately relaxed and started to enjoy my day.

How California Skateboarding Revolutionized Global Culture: Article by NG.
In September 2019, National Geographic documented the Venice skate scene, and I was honored to be part of it. The feature was published in their June 2020 issue—ironically, right when COVID hit and the Venice Skatepark was filled with sand to stop us from gathering.
But instead of backing down, I called on the skate community. We showed up with shovels, grit, and heart—and we dug it out together. That moment captured more than skateboarding. It showed the spirit of movement, resistance, and unity—values that continue to shape me as an actor, director, and storyteller.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. What can you tell us about what you do?
I am an Actor and Director with a BA in film from Full Sail University. After Graduation, I spent eight years as a Producer Editor, starting at Discovery Networks located in Miami, Florida. There I was in charge of producing content for their websites and creating deliverables for our partners in the Latin American region for two years. That was a great opportunity and gave me a pathway to land my next job at High Hill Entertainment, a production company that took me under its wing. Together, we embarked on various projects. My favorite project was a pilot show that was submitted to different Hispanic networks and ultimately picked up and produced by Telemundo and NBC Networks, where it aired for about ten years...
